This charming watercolor of a busy square in Florence is an excellent and large example of Jones’s
European watercolors. This is also one of the few works we have seen with the artist taking her
new husband’s name. Shortly after their wedding in France, the newlyweds went on a brief European
tour before returning toWashington, DC.
