plates after Feodor Rojankovsky. Plates mea-
sure 275x190 mm, tipped along right side in
two places with tape, some archival, most with
early cellotape, title creased and chipped at
corners, mounts with scattered toning and
occasional crease, first plate creased in margin;
laid into board portfolio with colophon and
early bookseller description mounted to front
cover verso, soiled and separated along joints.

Number 167 of 310 copies. An early copy of
Rojankovsky’s coveted Art Deco erotic portfolio of
plates that depict the amorous adventures of a john
and his French mistress from the Paris Metro, to a
taxi, and finally to their hotel room.The Latvian-
born Rojankovsky, the Caldecott award winning
children’s book illustrator, spent much of his early
career working in Paris, often creating anonymous
works of erotica.The original edition of this portfo-
lio was printed in Paris by EPS in an edition of
516 copies.
