A chronology of violence visited on black people
from 1969 until the time of printing. “In the eyes
of white America, the life of one black man weighs
less than that of a white man. Last week highway
patrolmen opened fire without warning on the girls’
dormitory at Jackson State College in Mississippi,
murdering two black students.Three days earlier,
six black men in Augusta Georgia were shot to
death when Lester Maddox unleashed his police
forces on the black community.”
