Geographia Naturalis is preceded by a general title (Atlas Novus), which lists the 7 volumes
in the series. The present volumes are listed as parts 1 and 2 on the general title. The general
title is preceded by a half-title for Atlas Novus, as well as an engraved frontispiece. The
frontispiece has been included in the count of maps appearing in Geographia Naturalis. The
general title lists Joannem Bencard as the publisher and he is listed as the publisher as well
for the first part of the atlas. However, the general title lists Augsburg, Dillingen, and Frankfurt
as Bencard’s business addresses, while the first part of the atlas places him in Munich.
Many of the maps are of significant American interest.
