Barber’s “The True Narrative of the Five Years’
Suffering & Perilous Adventures.” She described
her life as the wife of the Sioux chief Squatting
Bear. On verso is a similar illustrated advertise-
ment for “Dr. David Livingstone’s Discoveries
and Adventures in Africa,” which was also issued
by Barclay & Co. in 1873.
