The album was purchased in 1954 from Goodspeed’s Book Shop by collector and Manuscript Society

president Herbert Klingelhofer (1915-2015), who obtained the presidential signatures beginning with

Hoover, and from whom it passed to the present owner, Klingelhofer’s descendants.
