President Franklin Delano Roosevelt is depicted laughing and standing over black and white photographs of the destruction in Italy separated by dripping red bloodstains. Italian anti-American propaganda ostensibly showed an American audience the results of their warfare against defenseless Italian civilian centers, but in fact this poster was not meant for distribution in America, but only to further enrage Italian public sentiment against the Allies in the dwindling days of World War II.
