Our sales feature Presidents, Signers of the Declaration of Independence, military figures, statesmen, royalty and nobility, writers, scientists, artists, musicians, and entertainers. We are pleased to talk with you about your area of Autograph collecting interest.

We accept consignments of individual items and collections or archives, and accept material throughout the year.

 



An Autograph Letter Signed from Robert E. Lee to Ulysses S. Grant, proposing an exchange of prisoners of war, October 1, 1864, sold on April 23, 2009 for $57,600.



A rare photograph of Generals Eisenhower and MacArthur seated side by side in a limousine during Ike's May 1946 visit to Tokyo, signed by both, sold on March 13, 2008 for $36,000.



A complete copy of Chicago Daily Tribune from Nov. 3, 1948 with the headline “Dewey Defeats Truman,” signed by both candidates, and with an inscription from Truman, sold on April 23, 2009 for $10,200.



An Autograph Letter Signed by Sigmund Freud, in German, a letter of reference for a student of his, Vienna, 1933, sold on April 23, 2009 for $9,600.



Frederick Douglass' Autograph Quotation Signed, and dated, from an unknown work, 1867, sold on September 25, 2008 for $7,200.



A Typed Letter Signed, with holograph corrections, by Thomas Pynchon to Charles Hollander, 1981, sold on April 23, 2009 for $14,400.

Featured a photograph of Theodore Roosevelt in his Rough Rider uniform standing beside a tent at Camp Wikoff, Montauk, in 1904, signed and inscribed by the President, which brought $15,600.

Contained about 90 fine signed photographs, including a seated portrait photograph of Abraham Lincoln by Alexander Gardner, Signed “A. Lincoln,” as President, which brought $48,000.

Americana and literary autographs were featured, including several presidential items, such as this photograph of John F. Kennedy, signed and inscribed, as Senator, which sold for $4,080.
