On January 25 Swann was pleased to offer more than 150 items from the Twentieth Century Fox Archives: Documents from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Proceeds from the sale go to benefit the Motion Picture & Television Fund.
The sale's top lot was a contract signed by John Steinbeck assigning the motion picture rights to The Grapes of Wrath, April 24, 1939, which brought $24,000.
Also among the top lots were a typed letter signed by Marilyn Monroe regarding the terms for her appearance on the Lux Radio Theatre program her radio debut, February 19, 1947, $7,000; a contract signed by William Faulkner, an option agreement for the motion picture rights to The Sound and the Fury, September 1, 1956, $6,500; and a contract signed by Audrey Hepburn for How to Steal a Million, March 5, 1965, $5,400.
