With three record-breaking sales in this February's Vintage Posters auction, the collecting public has shown that it is still willing to compete vigorously for rare posters.

The sale featured classic Art Deco works such as Paul Colin’s masterpiece, Le Tumulte Noir, portfolio with 22 plates, chemise and printed wrappers, 1927, which sold for $22,800 (see top illustration).

Buffalo Bill’s Wild West / The Great Train Hold-Up & Bandit Hunters of the Union Pacific, 1907 broke a record at $12,000 (second illustration), as did Maccabiah by Walter Holz, London, 1935 at $9,000 (third illustration).

Rounding out the sale were the international ski image of Mont Tremblant by Herbert Bayer, 1939, $6,480 (fourth illustration) and the travel poster for Yellowstone-Park by Ludwig Hohlwein, Munich, 1910, $5,760 (last illustration).
