The morning's American Art session features paintings, drawings and sculpture by 19th & 20th century artists alike. Highlights include:
Francisco Zuñiga's Zuñiga, from a deluxe edition of 100, with a bound volume, bronze sculpture and watercolor on paper (shown top left).
Two works by Blanche Lazzell: Street Scene, Provincetown, oil on canvas, 1915, shown left, and My Studio Garden, color monotype, 1940.
The afternoon session of Contemporary Art includes prints by contemporary masters such as Josef Albers, Alexander Calder, Keith Haring, Robert Indiana, Roy Lichtenstein and more. Among them, Andy Warhol's Mimosas, screenprint and acrylic paper collage on canvas, circa 1976.
Adolph Gottlieb's Hieroglyph, drypoint, 1944, an extremely scarce, early example of a print by Gottlieb.
Paintings and sculpture by contemporary artists such as Red Grooms, Damien Hirst, and Arnaldo Pomodoro. The sale also features two large paintings by Harland Miller, including Too Cool to Die, oil on canvas, 2004, shown bottom left.
