American Revolution material stands out in this auction, including the cover lot, Benjamin Tyler's 1818 engraving of the Declaration of Independence, on rollers. Other areas covered are the Civil War, Judaica, Baseball and local history from across the United States. Highlights include:
A first edition in any form of New York's first state constitution, printed in Fishkill, NY, 1777. This is the first copy of the Constitution of the State of New-York to appear at auction since 1944.
A section of documents and photographs relating to American Indians, including the hand-colored photograph shown left, Yellow Shirt, Sioux, by Frank A. Rinehart.
Five sketches of early Chinese immigrants in San Francisco circa 1853, by John B. Beutler, shown left, as well as a cache of Beutler's New York sketches of musicians of that era (lot 331).
A variety of broadsides from various locations in the United States, with headlines like "Silver Creek Steam-Engine Works!" and "Good Templars' Strawberry Festival!"
