(AMATEUR ALBUM) An album with 418 elegant photographs taken by L. Dresel of her trip to the United States. A largely chronological documentation of Dresel's visit to the States, starting with her landing in New York City, and traveling towards Boston, including coastal towns in Massachusetts, and further north. Most photographs appear to be taken by Dresel herself, but also includes images of the photographer, as well as enchanting harbor scenes, refined winter landscapes, Boston street scenes, portraits of family and friends, and rural meditations, all creating a portrait of the New England picturesque. With rich platinum prints interspersed throughout. Silver and platinum prints on a variety of paper stocks, the images measuring 2½x4 to 4¾x6½ inches (6.4x10.2 to 12.1x16.5 cm.), and the reverse, nearly all cornered in, but some tipped at the left edge, the pages with the locations and dates, and the images with captions, in ink. Folio, cloth with the printed title, lightly worn; with the photographer's signature and dates, in ink, on the front free endpaper. 1903-05
