283 •(TRUCKIN')
Album with 70 Polaroids portraying a number of long-haul truckers posed proudly with their rigs.
Nearly all of the images appear to have been photographed at a roadside truckstop by the name of Warren and Lew's Garage, and the album reads as a typological document imaged and compiled by one of the repair-shop employees. Also present are a few images of wrecks, and two intimate portraits of coffee-drinking patrons at the diner counter. Polaroids, the images measuring 2½x3¼ inches (6.3x8.1 cm.), a few with identifying captions, in ink, on recto. Skinny 4to, red cloth covers; spiral binding; with a lengthy newspaper clipping about "life on the road" affixed to the cover interiors. Circa 1962
