John D. Larson has been a writer, editor, archivist and books and manuscripts specialist with an emphasis on 19th and 20th Century Literature since 1990. He joined Swann in 2011 and has since catalogued several collections including the Norman J. Sondheim library of fine press books and the Lawrence M. Solomon Collection of Mystery, Detective & Science-Fiction Literature.
He began his career as collections assistant for The International Dada Archive at the University of Iowa. After several years living abroad in South Asia, he joined an international auction house in Manhattan where he served as Co-Director of the Russian Literature & Art Department as well as Modern Literature Specialist.
John has a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Iowa, where he attended the Iowa Writers' Workshop. He went on to receive a M.A. in Film & Media Studies from The New School. He has also completed coursework at the Rare Book School at the University of Virginia.
