unnamed recipient (“Dear Sir”), in French, stating that he cannot meet on Sunday due to a
meeting at the College of France and suggesting that they meet instead on Monday at
2:30. 1 page, small 8vo, with integral blank; few tiny pin holes at top edge, remnants of
mounting at center of terminal page.

BROD, MAX. Autograph Letter Signed, to “Good Sir Dr. Mayer,” in German,
noticing that his own name was not mentioned in the two articles on Franz Kafka in the
Palestine Post
from September 12, pointing out that readers would be interested to hear his
own views, and enclosing an article that lays them out [not present]. 1 page, 8vo, “Dr. Max
Brod” ink stamp at upper right; faint scattered foxing, minor scattered horizontal creases
with one touching signature, two small holes punched in left margin with minor loss to
text.
