Lima, 18 January 1782 [600/900] Proceedings against the Bethlemita father Francisco de San José for speaking positively of the mestizo rebel José Gabriel Túpac Amaru, who had recently been executed for leading an uprising. He was also accused of moving between convents without permission. He is here sentenced to 15 days in jail and a year of silence in the Carmen de Lima convent. 376 ● (SOUTH AMERICA.)
