Vp, 1962-67, 1991 [500/750] The earliest photograph is of Marshall during the confirmation struggle for his appointment to a federal circuit court in 1962. 4 others date from the time of his Supreme Court confirmation in 1967. Also offered are 8 photographs of his successor on the Supreme Court, Clarence Thomas, from the period of his contentious 1991 confirmation—fighting what were perhaps the first sexual harassment charges to reach the national consciousness.
