Framed. “Hunting in Canada became a growing attraction as advertisers working for Canadian Pacific encouraged sportsmen, in explicit ads, to come and shoot anything that ran or flew. Images of the game they could hunt appeared in bright colors on series of posters” (Canadian Pacific p. 226). Canadian National Railways was formed in 1918, and ultimately became a conglomeration of many smaller railway companies. In 1923, when it took over the Grand Trunk Railway, it became the largest Canadian railway company (taking control of the three coast-to-coast Atlantic-to-Pacific rail lines in Canada -The Canadian Pacific, which was the first, Grand Trunk Pacific Railway and the Canadian Northern Railway).
