Various small sizes, sketches in good condition, books worn. Vp, circa 1870s-90s [1,000/1,500] Pym was a prolific children’s book illustrator whose style was heavily influenced by fellow English Victorian author/illustrator Kate Greenaway. The archive descends from the Pym (née Livett) family and consists of a gift book to Pym from her mother on her 13th birthday, full of poetry, verse, photographic and printed cut-outs, and watercolors by her mother. 1871 * two sketchbooks by Pym, the first, dated 1880, contains approximately 40 pages of mostly rough pencil sketches of children and a pictorial alphabet; the second, dated 1886, has 25 pages with watercolor drawings and sketches, a Valentine to friend, and a small drawing laid inside * an illustrated envelope with a watercolored holiday greeting, 1887 * 6 printed books with illustrations by Pym, most quite worn : Rosy Mite, nd; Pictures by Pym, nd; A Choice of Profession, 1894 * Clouds and Sunshine, 1900 (with a note by the author, tipped in).
