Ink and graphite drawing of a horse’s rear quarters on paper, 95x50 mm; 3¾x2 inches, signed in pencil and dated 1896, lower right. Tipped to window matte; small ink drawing of a mounted cowboy roping a steer, roughly 1½x2 inches, on paper, accompanied by a letter of authenticity by appraiser Harold G. Davidson; illustration of cowboy on horseback (first printed by Gallery West, Inc., 1972), 5x5½ inches, cardboard backing from previous frame with inscription from Otey Johnson gifting it to Jimmy Swinnerton stating that he owns the original (unfinished) plate; the image was eventually used on the cover of a catalogue titled “Prospectives in Western Art.” Two etchings of cowboys on horseback, signed in the plate, 11x8 inches, sheets; photograph of Borein with two unidentified gentleman.
