  • Notes: A stunning library of lavishly produced photobooks with works by contemporary artists Sally Mann, Robert and Shana Parkeharrison, Joel-Peter Witkin, Greg Gorman, Tom Baril, Arthur Tress, Sheila Metzner, Michael Kenna, Eikoh Hosoe, Flor Garduno, as well as emerging photographers Josephine Sacabo, Misha Gordon and David Halliday.

Each title features a custom-designed artisanal binding (including leather, vellum, custom-made paper, and fine fabrics), that continually reinvents the form. Fine papers used for both the photographs and text, which were specially selected by each artist, reflecting each book's unique design features.

Letterpress text by figures as diverse as William Blake (See: Joel-Peter Witkin's volumes), Walt Whitman (Sheila Metzner's "New York"), Guillaume Apollinaire (Arthur Tress's "Memories"), Hart Crane (Sheilia Metzner's "The Bridge"), Rainer Maria Rilke (Josephine Sacabo's book), Ann Beattie (Baril's "Manhattan Portfolio") Charles Baudelaire (Hosoe's Flowers of Evil"), and William Shakespaeare (Flor Garduno's monograph) accompany the images, and were printed, by hand, on an old-style Vandercook press.

Internally, a range of beautiful images were produced as platinum prints, cyanotypes,hand-pulled photogravures, pigment ink prints, silver gelatin, or color tissue prints. In addition, each book features artworks that are both bound into the volume in addition to freestanding (unbound) prints, with more than 500 artworks, in total.
