  • Condition: LOT 23
Aaron Siskind's "Detail of Walker Warehouse, Chicago", 1954 is a beautiful photograph boasting rich shadows and vibrant highlights. The work is overall in good to very good condition.

Under close inspection in strong raking light, it is possible to notice a few scattered superficial surface inconsistencies, including faint impressions and soft creases. Most notable, a couple soft linear creases along the left edge, and exceedingly soft diagonal ones at each bottom corner. These remain extremely discreet and are completely obscured by the graphic qualities of the print. At the far top edge it is also possible to see a soft impression transferred from writing on the verso. These inconsistencies are mostly visible in strong raking light, but not all immediately apparent under typical viewing conditions.

The narrow margins of the print are overall clean and bright.

The verso is lightly soiled, with a series of notations including the Institute of Design I.I.T.'s credit stamp with Siskind's credit in pencil in an unknown hand, the title in ink, a date stamp, and additional notations in blue pencil.
