Black and red chalk on cream laid paper mounted on laid paper, 1650. 423x350 mm; 16 3/4x13 3/4 inches. Signed and dated in ink, lower left recto. Ex-collection Holtkott, ink stamp verso (not in Lugt).

The current work derives from Rubens' altarpiece at Freising Cathedral in southern Germany, a modello for which--dating from around 1623-24--is in the Getty Collection, Los Angeles (85.PB.146).
