Graflex Pacemaker Speed Graphic camera once belonging to Ansel Adams. For exposures on 4x5 sheet film. Black finished metal body, metal lensboard, with a side mounted range finder; includes flash post, 2 flash reflectors, a flash bulb, a shutter release cable, 3 Graflex Expand-O-Cords (2 still in package), and camera cloth; in large camera case. 1940s

  • Notes: This camera was given to Adams by Alfred Eisenstaedt, a well known photographer who worked for life magazine. Eisenstaedt had begun to use the camera and was impressed by what it could do and thought that Adams should have one. This camera was later given to Adams's student, David Eaton.

    with--4 pairs of Adams's eyeglasses. Given to Adams's eye doctor after his death. Both the camera and the eyeglasses come with a notarized letter of authenticity that they once belonged to Ansel Adams.
