ADOLF FASSBENDER. Pictorial Artistry: The Dramatization of the Beautiful in Photography.

ADOLF FASSBENDER.
Pictorial Artistry: The Dramatization of the Beautiful in Photography.
Illustrated with 40 hand-pulled photogravures of Fassbender's photographs. Folio, gilt-lettered spiral-bound cloth, lightly worn; contents crisp and clean. Auer 259. ONE OF 1000 SIGNED AND NUMBERED COPIES, THIS NUMBER 637.
New York: B. Westermann Company, Inc., (1937)

  • Condition: Adolf Fassbender's book "Pictorial Artistry" is in very good condition. The photogravures are excellent, with bright, clean surfaces and clear, rich tones.

The volume is internally also overall clean and neat. Some of the first and last pages have curled somewhat around the metal spiral binding, as is typical. And, just some of the plates show faint off-setting opposite, which is inherent to the title. But, the volume appears largely internally unhandled.

The covers are overall neat, but evidence faint foxing and even more faint warming, particularly at the edges. This foxing can also be observed at the edges of the front and rear pastdowns (associated with the cloth). But the title retains overall beauty and a neat presentation, and is a beautiful example of Fassbender's work.

This is number 637 of 1000 signed and numbered copies.
