ADOLPH HOFER (1869-?)

E. & O. MERZBACHER PELZE. Circa 1910. Reichhold, Munich.
431/2x301/2 inches.

  • Notes: Hofer designed two posters for this furrier, one with a woman walking her dogs, and this one, where she is in the fitting room, admiring her looks from all angles, draped in a long fur stole. Emulating Hohlwein, Hofer uses no black outline for his image, which, along with the color scheme, builds a warm, sensuous scene. Maitres 1900 p. 166, DFP III 1279, Munchen p, 200 no. 303.
  • Condition: Condition A-: repaired tears in margins.
