Adolph Treidler 1886-1981 Men At Work. 23.875 x 18 inches. ConditionB+: repaired tears, creases and restoration through top margin, affecting image. A gifted graphic designer, Treidler's career took off during the First World War, when he designed some widely distributed Liberty Loan posters. In later years Treidler created many famous travel images, for the Bermuda Tourist Offices and the Furness Bermuda and French Lines among others. What is lesser known about Treidler is his involvement in the Second World War, during which he served as the Chairman of the Pictorial Publicity Committee for the Society of Illustrators. This rare poster is an example of Treidler's work during that period. his only known photomontage, thisimage shows a worker on a fence cheering on American bomber planes flying overhead. The message is clear: in war, both civilians and soldiers have to support each other in order to be victorious.
