Engraving, circa 1496-97. 316x226 mm; 12 1/2x9 inches. A brilliant, dark and richly-inked Meder b impression, with very strong contrasts, with some burr in the darkly-shaded areas and with little to no sign of wear, extremely scarce this early. Gothic letter P with a flower watermark (Meder 321, which he dates from around 1500 to 1527). Narrow margins on 3 sides, trimmed just into the image to the uppermost foliage of the tallest tree on the upper edge.
