Woodcut, circa 1496-98. 391x280 mm; 15 3/8x11 inches. A very good, dark impression from the 1498 German text edition. Ex-collection Adalbert Freiherr von Lanna (Lugt 2773, verso); Vinzent Mayer (Lugt 2525, verso); and David Bernard Hausmann (Lugt 377, verso). Trimmed on or just outside the border line, expertly restored loss upper right corner in the stars.

According to Lugt, the Mayer and Bernard collections were known principally for their Dürer woodcuts and engravings. Bartsch 71; Meder 173.
