(Venice: Aldus Manutius, 1514) [4,000-6000 ONE OF A SMALL NUMBER PRINTED ON VELLUM of the second Aldine edition.B 8 in the end matter comprises a note by Aldus on material omitted from the 1501 first Aldine edition, notably Nel cor pien d'amarissimadolcezza, which he includes here, followed by Quel c'ha nostra naturain se piu degno. This copy contains an additional gathering B 8 in a variant setting in which the note by Aldus is omitted, Nel cor . . . is replaced with Da poi che morte triompho nel volto, and Quel c'ha nostra natura . . . is followed by 4 of the poems addressed to Petrarca and the errata also found on C2v-C4r and C8r. Cornell/Fiske, page 89; Gamba 712 note (citing 6 copies on vellum); Renouard, page 68(8 copies on vellum). None of these references mentions a variant setting.
