A group of approximately 70 press and wire photographs from the 1930s through the 1970s, relating to American criminal activities and groups.
Including copy-cat Ruth Snyder murders, suspects in a jailhouse tryst, and a photograph of Patty Hearst before her abduction, published after her infamous criminal involvement. Ferrotyped silver and wire prints, the images measuring 8x10 inches (20.3x25.4 cm.), and smaller, and the reverse, nearly all with a typed press caption and credit, in the negative or mounted recto/verso, and some with a combination of handwritten notations, press agency hand stamps, and duplicate hand stamps, on verso. 1930s-70s

WITH-- A trio of 1930s mugshots for various criminals accused of communist interests. Silver prints, the overall images measuring 2 1/4x3 1/4 inches (5.7x8.3 cm.), the sheets slightly larger, each on a pink card mount 5x8 inches (12.7x20.3 cm.), with typed identifying information and the Michigan Central Railroad Police Department printed header, on recto. 1932

AND-- A Los Angeles County District Attorney Intelligence Bulletin dossier. Containing information regarding several accused criminals and their crimes, some pages with mugshots stapled on recto. Silver prints, the overall images measuring 2 1/4x3 1/4 inches (5.7x8.3 cm.), and smaller. Circa 1969
