(AMERICAN REVOLUTION--1776.) Map titled "Boston and the Adjacent Country, with the Stations of the British & Provincial Armies," in an issue of the General Magazine. Folding plate, 8 x 10¾ inches, in disbound magazine, 8 x 5 inches, [145]-192 pages; minimal wear, map cropped on bottom edge with loss of a bit of the neatline. London, April 1776

  • Notes: Includes a map with an extensive key showing many attractions in British-occupied Boston from Faneuil Hall to "Mount Whoredom," as well as Bunkers Hill and the American fortifications in Cambridge and Roxbury. Also included is "The Allemande Dance," an unusual reddish-brown plate printed "in Red Chalk." General Magazine is not nearly as commonly seen as its competitor the Gentleman's Magazine.
