  • Notes: Includes papers from 1773 dated 19 February, 5 March, 19 March, 2 April, 30 April, 11 June, and 13 August, plus 25 March 1774. The 20 March issue describes the festivities in Providence upon the anniversary of the repeal of the Stamp Act, where "a Number of patriotic and loyal Toasts were drank." The 30 April issue recounts reprisals against Rhode Island for the Gaspee Rebellion. The 11 June issue includes a resolve passed in Massachusetts in support of Virginia's "Vigilance, Firmness, and Wisdom, which they have discovered at all Times in support of the Rights and Liberties of the American Colonies." The 25 March 1774 issues describes a large sack of tea confiscated from a peddler in Lyme, CT, "whereupon a number of the sons of liberty assembled in the evening, kindled a fire and committed its contents to the flames." It also describes a collection for the wounded Boston Massacre victim Christopher Monk.
