Folio, early 1/4 calf, moderate wear, front board detached, later stickers on front board and backstrip; minor wear to the first 3 issues, minor dampstaining on fore-edge, the last issue cropped and stained; compiler's signature and later note on front free endpaper, 1802 purchase note above first masthead.   • Notes: An incomplete run of an important weekly newspaper in the years following the Stamp Act, starting with its second issue. It was known for its anti-British sentiment. Includes parts 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9 of John Dickinson''s "Letters from a Farmer" (14 December to 18 January). The newspaper also reprinted a series of Benjamin Franklin''s pieces on the Stamp Act which originally appeared in London papers--see 16 February, 23 February, 9 March, and 23 March. Lacking only issues 1, 10, 12, 21, 38, 44, 46, 47 and 51 from the first year of publication, and including 2 postscripts and the 28 October extraordinary issue.
