"In this, one of the most significant trials of our history, young Josiah Quincy and John Adams, at a point when public feeling had been fanned to flame by Samuel Adams and John Hancock, volunteered to defend the eight British soldiers charged with murder at the Boston Massacre. We have here a very full account of the trial, except for the closing argument for the Crown by Robert Treat Paine, which is given in brief summary"--Streeter sale, II:741.
