AMERICANS ALL! VICTORY LIBERTY LOAN. 1919

The Victory Loan was launched on April 21, 1919, more than 5 months after the war in Europe had ended. However two million American service men were still overseas and the government "was spending two billion dollars a month on obligations relating to the war" (Rawls p. 229). Christy who had created images for the Third and Fourth Liberty Loans here turns his talent toward a commemorative message appealing to Americans of all different nationalities who had family members perish in combat -- only German names are conspicuously missing.
