(APARTHEID.) Europeans Only: Front of Arrow. Voor Peiltjie: Net Blankes.
Enameled metal sign, 16x35 inches; some scratches, rust, and discoloration, with a couple of large rust spots on the reverse, the entire sign somewhat bowed. Capetwon, South Africa, 1953
- Notes: Sign prepared after the introduction of the Separation of Amenities Act. The sign offered here was used on buses in Capetown, Johannesburg, and other large cities. Such signs are far less common in Africa than their counterparts here in the United States, because they were gathered up by the various municipalities to be destroyed in 1989-90 following the end of Apartheid.M>
