Issued as an accompaniment to the landmark Corcoran Gallery exhibition The Architectural Vision of Paolo Soleri which explored the architect''s concept of arcology--architecture coherent with ecology. Arcology advocates minimizing the use of energy, raw materials and land, reducing waste and environmental pollution, and allowing interaction with the surrounding natural environment. As such, his work and concepts are currently experiencing a revival among environmentally aware planners and architects.
