Title within woodcut architectural border with allegorical figures; full-page woodcut on verso of next leaf verso showing 2 figures amid classical ruins, repeated on recto of last leaf; double- and full-page woodcuts and text illustrations throughout, partly after Andrea Palladio, with full-page cancel woodcuts on pages 72 and 85; mounted extension flaps on pages 39, 69, 71, 78, cxxv, and cxxvii; and working volvelle pointer on page 228; lacks the 2 volvelle theater diagrams on V2v and V3r. 274 [i. e., 284], [18] pages, with cancel leaves B3.4. Folio, 408x275 mm, 18th-century vellum gilt, ink blot on spine, light stain on front cover; occasional browning and dark marginal stains with traces of mold and noticeable odor of mildew, marginal repairs on last 4 leaves minimally affecting text and woodcuts. sold as is.   • Notes: first barbaro edition of the only surviving early work on Greco-Roman architecture, a Latin treatise written in the 1st century B.C. and first published circa 1486-87.
