(ART.) Pair of posters for exhibitions by sculptor Richard Hunt. Each about 18 x 13 inches; tack holes, minimal wear. Chicago, November 1963 and April 1968

  • Notes: Richard Hunt (1935-2023) was the first Black sculptor with a retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art. He was described by President Barack Obama as "one of the greatest artists Chicago has ever produced," and in 2022 the Getty Research Institute acquired his massive archive.

These posters are for two early exhibitions of Hunt's work at Chicago's B.C. Holland Gallery. The first is 17¾ x 13¾ inches in black and white, for an exhibition running from 15 November to 27 December 1963. The other is 19 x 12½ inches in black and brown, for an exhibition running through April 1968.
