Folio, second edition with the commentary of Thomas Waleys and Nicolaus Trivet; hand rubricated with capital strokes and headlines throughout; twenty-two large hand-painted display initials in colors, one at the head of each chapter; thirty-eight signatures, mostly in tens, full collation available upon request; a few leaves with paper repairs to blank margins, the repair paper toned; some discoloration to gutters; inner margins originally guarded with manuscript waste (now removed, some ink transfer at centers of some margins), two colophons printed in red; text in two columns; final leaf mounted, most likely to the integral blank; bound in 19th century blind tooled calf (rubbed, joints starting); evidence that the original binding incorporated wooden boards, some minor worming; indentations in final two leaves from two bosses; some examples of deckle edges and original handwritten signature marks occasionally present in the text; overall a clean and attractive copy of an important early incunabula; housed in custom folding case, 15 3/8 x 11 in.
