A rare poster promoting an exhibition of American war posters in Newark, New Jersey. Privately printed by the Newark Public Library, this linoleum cut image is "based on a picture by the Japanese artist Hiroshige". [Specifically on his Plain at Suzaki woodblock, printed in the 100 Famous Views of Edo in 1857]. The submarine and ship, however, are modern additions.
