  • Notes: An impressive elevated perspective map/view of the theater of the U.S. Civil War in Virginia and Maryland. The panorama, one of a series of six that were produced by Bachmann during the war, offered the public, especially mothers and wives of soldiers, a visual comprehension of the scope of the raging conflict the country was involved in. The view is centered on Richmond in the year before it fell.
