BAKER, JOSEPHINE. Les Memoires de Josephine Baker.
Edited by Marcel Sauvage. Plates after photographs. 8vo, original pictorial wrappers, lightly worn; some gatherings crudely opened. Paris, (1949)
- Notes: fist edition of the third and last of Baker's memoirs, as organized by her life-long friend and some-time adviser Marcel Sauvage. Baker discusses the problem of color in America and her dislike of the color-line drawn between light-skinned and darker skinned blacks. She also discusses the War and her participation in the Resistance as a spy. On the front flyleaf someone has written, "Souvenir de Josephine Baker."
