- Notes: signed by frank baum on the title-page. This "Big Little Book" was the cause of a lawsuit brought by Reilly & Lee against the author, L. Frank Baum's eldest son, whose desire to continue the Oz series auhorship within the Baum family was interrupted by his service in France. By the time he returned, Thompson was already installed as Royal Historian of Oz and his submitted manuscript of "Rosine and the Laughing Dragon" rejected. A portion was later published by the Whitman Publishing Company as the present lot, but as a result of the Reilly & Lee legal action.
