With points as follows: front lining paper is pale gray; advertisements on page [2] are enclosed in a square box; no printed or stamped copyright notice on the verso of title; first line on page 14 reads "low wail on the wind"; the plate opposite page 34 in earliest state with two blue spots on the moon; fourth line from the bottom on page 81 reads "peices" (later "pieces"); the "stork plate" opposite page 92 in the earliest state with red shadowing on the horizon; perfect type on last line of pages 100 and 186; first line of page [227] reads "While Tin Woodman" (later "While The Woodman"); the colophon at the terminal lining paper is in 11 lines and enclosed within a box. FIRST ISSUE OF BINDING with points: publisher's imprint at foot of spine printed in green capitals; the rays surrounding the emerald on the rear cover not outlined.
