  • Notes: A handsome copy of the first "sub-edition" and perhaps the one most responsible for widely popularizing the OZ story. the bibliography notes only one copy seen with blank endpapers. Denslow supplied new illustrations for the cover and title-page, but the text remains largely the same setting. The front free endpaper has a gift inscription dated May 6, 1903.
