Baumann/Fraumunsterstr. 17 1952 50 x 35.75inches. Bollmann, Zurich. Condition A-: minor discoloration along bottom. As Baumberger had been an active poster designer in Zurich since 1911, he was a naturalchoice as an artist for Mr. Baumann in 1919 What made their meeting historic was that, by simply placing a gigantic, hyper-realistic top hat in the middle of a piece of paper, Baumberger created the Swiss "Sach Plakat" object poster, beginning a series of works that included his equally famous PKZ "coat" poster. Definitely a striking image, Baumann reused it several times with slight modifications, once in 1928 when he moved to Fraumunster Strasse, once in 1930, and then in 1952, which was the last printing. This poster is a perfect example of how even though decades pass and graphic trends change, some posters are just timeless. ref.
