  • Notes: one of 100 numbered copies signed by beckett. This copy is additionally inscribed to poet walter lowenfels. Lowenfels was an expatriate poet highly esteemed by writers and critics of the day. Upon his return to the United States, he renounced poetry and became editor of the Pennsylvania edition of the Daily Worker. In the 1950s, he was arrested for advocating the overthrow of the government but was later released for lack of evidence. He then resumed his career as a poet.
